The young company with sites in Freudenstadt/Nagold scores its next coup with the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Award 2022.  The state’s innovation award honors unconventional ideas for innovative products, methods, or services. Olmatic’s key technology and method convinced the jury that it offers high value for industry—a sector that urgently needs practical solutions to save energy and reduce emissions.  

Thanks to the self-developed AI-based application, industry can save millions in energy costs by identifying peak loads and high energy consumption several days in advance, balancing them in time with stored renewable energy. The award recognizes the technology as a valuable key an unprecedented challenge: progressively counteracting rising energy prices.  

The award is presented for the 38th time this year and is thus part of a longstanding tradition. It is endowed with a total of 50,000 euros and dedicated to the former Minister of Economics, Dr. Rudolf Eberle (1926 -1984). 

„Innovations are the decisive factor in overcoming current challenges such as the effects of the Corona pandemic, transformation and climate change. That’s why we are looking for the best companies in the state whose innovations can make a significant contribution to the success of Baden-Württemberg as a business location,“ said Economy Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut at the launch of this year’s call for entries.  

The national stage also awaits the company – Olmatic also made it to the highly coveted finale of the German Sustainability Award. Will they also succeed in this feat?
