Entry into promising medical industry

Olmatic GmbH has taken over business parts of mtb diabetes service GmbH, a company specialising in research and development in the field of diabetes and based in Lonsee, effective October 1, 2016.

Mtb GmbH is an international company that has been firmly established for more than 30 years with a focus on continuous glucose measurement, which enables a multi-day measurement of glucose in subcutaneous adipose tissue. With the help of the technical aids on the market, diabetes diagnostics and therapy can be tailored more individually to the individual modalities of the patients. The core product is glucostator, a globally unique fully automated glucose metabolism measurement and control system that enables the user to accurately monitor intravenous blood sugar levels over a longer period of time.

Since 2007, Olmatic GmbH has been developing and manufacturing pioneering electronics products and systems and covers a wide range of services. The portfolio ranges from the development and manufacture of sophisticated electronic products, to their marketing, to the handling of the associated „after-sales market,“ all from a single source.

With the takeover of the business parts, Olmatic GmbH is expanding its product portfolio and at the same time entering the promising medical industry. The new products and services related to medicine are managed as an independent department under the name „Olmatic Medical.“ The takeover was a strategic decision for Olmatic GmbH Managing Director Christian Olma. „I am convinced that Olmatic GmbH will benefit from this acquisition, as well as diabetes treatment and research. The products and network of mtb GmbH as well as the extensive achievements of the company, which has been established in the medical industry for many years, will strengthen our position in the target markets. “

Dr. h.c. Horst Zier, founder of mtb GmbH, will remain as a consultant to Olmatic GmbH and will in future support Olmatic GmbH in the development of sales and the further development of the Medical product line through professional competence and many years of experience.
